The 1439 Lounge

Located in The Old Tea Room just next to the George Hotel, the 1439 lounge is a cocktail and speciality drinks lounge opened in October 2015. It offers the comfort of home with the luxury of an extensive choice of speciality beverages, including a substantial cocktail menu with additional specials changing regularly alongside speciality spirits and craft brews.

Perfect for those of us who enjoy something a bit special, different or new to drink in a comfortable and cosy lounge to share with friends.

Now stocking over 35 variances of gin and counting! Watch this space for our coveted gin workshop events and where to purchase tickets. Open Friday and Saturday for the public and also available for private bookings, our very own cocktail making masterclasses and speciality spirits workshops.

We have rooms available for private hire, meetings, small conferences, community groups and family events.

There is free Wi-Fi available for use by customers. The facility can accommodate up to 30 people comfortably in a variety of seating styles. We also have an overhead projector, whiteboard/flipchart and the television screen with an SD card slot. This makes it the ideal space to hold meetings and conferences.

Our accommodating kitchen staff can cater for your event with a wide range of options such as branches, lunches, or buffets. Special dietary needs can be catered for but please give advance notice.
